YouTube Raises Age Limit: Streaming Now Allowed Only for Users 16 and Older

Google has announced an update to its age policy on YouTube. Starting from July 22, only individuals aged 16 and older will be allowed to stream live on the platform.

While children aged 13 to 15 can appear in streams, they must be accompanied by an adult. The company stated that failure to comply with this rule will result in the user losing access to the chat feature and the ability to stream live.

The reasons behind these age restriction changes on YouTube remain unclear. These updates will not affect channels that do not engage in live streaming.
