Yandex Launches “Yandex Kit” Trademark for New E-Commerce SaaS Platform

In mid-May, the company «Yandex» officially registered the trademark «Yandex Kit» for 14 classes of goods and services. This name was previously associated with its own operating system for smartphones and tablets built on Android.

The project was launched in early 2014 but was discontinued just one year later.

A representative of «Yandex» emphasized that the trademark registration is unrelated to the operating system project. Instead, the brand now refers to a future product from «Yandex»—a technology SaaS platform designed for the quick launch of independent e-commerce projects.

«This platform will offer a comprehensive solution for entrepreneurs looking to quickly establish their online stores. It will provide a ready-made sales infrastructure, including store promotion, customer acquisition, logistics, payments, and installment options. Inside, there will be conversion-focused UX templates for different industries, already optimized for maximizing organic traffic and ensuring effective ad performance,» the company stated.

The sales infrastructure will be supported by both «Yandex» services and partners, such as CDEK.

Through this initiative, the company aims to develop its own version of Shopify—a service builder for creating independent online stores.

The launch of «Yandex Kit» is scheduled for August of this year, while closed testing of the product has already begun.

Previously, «Yandex» acquired the delivery service Boxberry. As a result, the order pickup points for «Yandex» and the «Yandex Delivery» service will be available in more than 20 regions across the country, including Siberia and the Far East.
