Yanchuk on Medvedev and Rublevs Struggles: Russian Tennis Leaders Face a Dip in Performance

Soviet and Russian tennis player, honored coach of the RSFSR, **Viktor Yanchuk** commented on the recent performances of Russian tennis stars **Andrey Rublev** and **[Daniil Medvedev](https://www.example.com)**, suggesting that they may fall out of the ATP top 10 following a disappointing showing at the Madrid Masters.

«Our leading players are currently experiencing a downturn. Andrey Rublev was unable to defend his biggest victory from last year, while Daniil Medvedev does not perform as well on clay as he does on hard courts. We are accustomed to having two athletes in the top ten, but this is the reality we face. I believe one of them will be back there soon, as their level of play is quite high. I expect that it will likely be Medvedev. He did reasonably well in Madrid, reaching the quarterfinals. It’s clear he is regaining his form, and I think he will showcase his abilities after the clay season,» Yanchuk stated in an interview with TASS.
