Victory Without Conflict: Boss Battles in Death Stranding 2 Can Be Skipped

Hideo Kojima recently unveiled another intriguing aspect of gameplay for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach during the latest episode of the Koji Pro radio show. The developer mentioned that defeating bosses is not a requirement to complete the game.

Kojima explained this mechanic by stating that players who wish to bypass a boss fight can simply lose once and then select the option to skip the battle. Following this, they will be presented with a «brief recap» of the encounter in a visual novel format, which will encompass all key narrative elements of the boss fight.

Opinions among gamers online regarding this feature are mixed – some feel it is too casual and undermines the design of boss battles, while others praised Kojima Productions for making the sequel more accessible.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is set to launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 on June 26. There is currently no information on a potential PC release.
