Vampire Survivors Adds Exciting Online Co-op and Balatro Crossover in Latest Update

A new patch has arrived for Vampire Survivors in anticipation of its release. Version 1.14 offers a plethora of enhancements and finally introduces online cooperative gameplay. Additionally, the game has received a complimentary collaboration with the poker roguelike Balatro.

This crossover with Balatro features four characters (including the game’s mascot, Jimbo), four unique weapons and evolutions, a new area called Ante-Salon, and a mechanic that allows players to modify character stats and abilities.

The major highlight of this new update is the addition of online co-op for up to four players. Gameplay in the cooperative mode differs slightly; for example, level-up notifications occur only when all players in the group reach the same level. The pause menu doesn’t halt the game for everyone—while it continues, the paused character briefly gains invulnerability. If a player dies in multiplayer, they can switch to spectator mode to watch the remaining gamers. However, there is currently no cross-play functionality.

The update also introduces two new stages for the base game, additional characters, weapons, evolutions, Survarot mechanics, and more. The expansion Ode to Castlevania has expanded (without a change in price), bringing fresh secret heroes, another adventure, and additional surprises.

It’s important to note that the update is currently only available on Steam, as well as on PlayStation and mobile devices. The patch will arrive on Epic Games Store, Xbox, and Switch by October 31, as poncle has clarified. Online co-op for mobile users is set to launch in November.

The developers also shared their future plans. The next update for Vampire Survivors is “likely” scheduled for the first quarter of 2026, focusing on improving “quality of life,” enhancing performance on weaker platforms, and adding new content. Save slots will also be introduced.
