Valve Revamps Monthly Steam Release Charts with Expanded Features and Automation

If you’ve been keeping an eye on the monthly charts of top releases on Steam, you may have noticed that **Valve** has missed a few publications. It turns out the company has been working on an updated method for presenting data.

Previously, these charts only showcased the top 20 games based on revenue in the first two weeks following their release. Now, this number has been expanded to 50 titles. Additionally, **Valve** has allowed users to access charts from previous years, dating back to **November 2004**, when the first **Half-Life** was launched.

Now everything is automated—the rankings will be published exactly two weeks after the end of each month.

To make the chart a more user-friendly tool for discovering interesting games, **Valve** has introduced a section featuring trailers for the top new releases, as well as filters based on several criteria and categorization into «gold,» «silver,» and «bronze.» This classification is used when the platform releases data on the best games of the year. [Here’s an example from 2024](https://stopgame.ru/newsdata/65226/helldivers_2_palworld_i_wukong_sredi_samyh_uspeshnyh_igr_v_steam_za_2024_god).

The selection for the monthly chart remains based on revenue from the first two weeks post-launch. The games are then split into categories: the top 12 earners receive «gold,» the next 12 are awarded «silver,» and the rest are given «bronze.» Titles from early access and expansions are also included in the calculations.

Since **Valve** has not published monthly charts since February, we recommend checking out the best new releases from [March](https://store.steampowered.com/charts/topnewreleases/march_2025) and [April](https://store.steampowered.com/charts/topnewreleases/april_2025).

Within each category, the projects are arranged randomly.
