Upcoming Samsung Galaxy Buds Core and Buds 3 FE Revealed in App Teardown, Set to Redefine Affordable Audio

In the upcoming months, Samsung is anticipated to unveil the Galaxy Buds Core and Galaxy Buds 3 FE. While the South Korean manufacturer has yet to officially acknowledge these new Galaxy Buds, an APK teardown of the Galaxy Buds Controller app on Wear OS has reportedly revealed their names and model numbers. The Galaxy Buds Core true wireless stereo (TWS) earphones are expected to serve as the successor to the initial Samsung Galaxy Buds FE, which debuted in 2023.

Samsung May Be Developing Two New Earbud Models

According to a report from Android Authority, an APK teardown of the latest Galaxy Buds Controller app (Wear OS version 1.0.08.38) revealed several model numbers linked to various Galaxy earbud devices. The model number R400 appears to be associated with the current Galaxy Buds FE, whereas R410 is reportedly connected to the Galaxy Buds Core. Additionally, another model number R420 is said to relate to the Galaxy Buds 3 FE.

There are speculations that Samsung will release the ‘Galaxy Buds FE 2’ as a successor to the 2023 Galaxy Buds FE. However, recent information suggests that the company might skip using ‘2’ in the new model’s name. Instead, it could simply be referred to as the Galaxy Buds Core. It is also anticipated that the Galaxy Buds 3 FE will be revealed alongside the Galaxy Buds Core.

The Galaxy Buds Core earphones are expected to feature a 500mAh battery, with each earbud rumored to contain a 100mAh cell. For comparison, the existing Galaxy Buds FE have 60mAh batteries in each earbud and a 479mAh battery in the charging case.

The rumored Galaxy Buds Core were recently listed on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website under model number SM-R410.

There is limited information about other specifications for the upcoming earbuds, and it remains uncertain whether Samsung will introduce both new models at the Galaxy Unpacked event alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.

In October 2023, Samsung launched the budget-friendly Galaxy Buds FE at an introductory price of Rs. 9,999. They come in Graphite and White color options.
