Unveiling WWE: Unreal—Inside the Action for the First Time on Netflix This Summer

On the evening of April 20, during WrestleMania 41, it was revealed that this summer, WWE: Unreal will unveil the behind-the-scenes action of the fights on Netflix. While not all information has been disclosed, a 30-second teaser has been released to capture the interest of WWE fans and those intrigued by the organization of these matches. This docuseries promises to showcase prominent WWE figures beyond the ring, as suggested by the trailer, which hints at the more dramatic life offstage compared to that in the ring.

WWE: Unreal Teaser

The teaser opens with Levesque stating, “7 days a week, 365 days a year, this is a meticulously planned production. It’s time for us to unveil the details.” This will mark the first docuseries to broadcast the behind-the-scenes action of the wrestling industry live. This effort is part of Netflix’s collaboration with WWE, set to air every Monday at 8 PM ET or 5:30 AM IST on Tuesdays. The extensive 10-year agreement worth over $5 billion secures the platform as the exclusive broadcaster of Raw in the US, Latin America, and the UK.

Worldwide Broadcast of WWE Events

As part of this arrangement, Netflix will also stream all WWE shows and specials that are broadcast outside the US, including programs like NXT and SmackDown. This deal ensures that Netflix will provide coverage of major events such as SummerSlam, WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, as well as WWE documentaries and other future projects available on-demand outside of the US.

WWE: Unreal Cast

Numerous stars will be featured in the WWE Raw ring during the premiere, including John Cena, The Rock, and The American Nightmare. Directed by Chris Weaver, WWE: Unreal consists of 10 episodes, each lasting 50 minutes. Erik Powers serves as the showrunner, while the executive producing team includes Jamie Horowitz, Ross Ketover, Ken Rodgers, Keith Cossrow, Lee Fitting, Marc Pomarico, and Jessica Body. The production is backed by Omaha Productions, in association with NFL Films, WWE, and Skydance Sports.
