Unveiling the Infinix Smart 7: A Stylish Entry in the Budget Smartphone Arena

Affordable smartphones generally prioritize essential functionalities over aesthetics, but Infinix has a different vision for its newest budget model. We had the opportunity to try out the Infinix Smart 7, and in this piece, we will convey our initial thoughts on the device. The Infinix Smart 7 is geared towards the budget market, and it comes complete with fundamental accessories in the packaging such as a USB Type-C charging cable, various documents, a user guide, a SIM ejector tool, and a TPU case.

The Infinix Smart 7 is offered in a single configuration featuring 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It is available in Azure Blue, Night Black, and Emerald Green colors. The smartphone’s price is set at Rs. 7,499 in India.

The Infinix Smart 7 boasts a polycarbonate body that is quite robust. Weighing in at 207g, the device does feel substantial. It has flat edges, with the power button and volume controls on the right side and the SIM card slot located on the left. The Type-C charging port, microphone, speaker grill, and headphone jack can be found on the bottom edge.

The back panel of the Infinix Smart 7 features a textured matte finish. Its wavy design is both modern and pleasant to the touch. Additionally, you can find Infinix branding at the lower part, along with a prominent camera module that incorporates a fingerprint sensor.

Infinix Smart 7 operates on XOS 12, which is based on Android 12

The Smart 7 includes a dual-rear camera configuration, consisting of a 13-megapixel main camera and a depth sensor, along with a flash unit. From my early captures taken in both daylight and nighttime, the image quality appears to be average, as expected from a device in this price range. The device also features a 5-megapixel front camera located in a water-drop notch on the display.

The Infinix Smart 7 presents a 6.6-inch HD+ LCD screen with a refresh rate of 60Hz and a peak brightness of 500 nits. While the visuals are acceptable, readability in direct sunlight leaves much to be desired. Infinix heavily promotes the Smart 7’s capability to achieve «up to 7GB of RAM», a feature that essentially incorporates 3GB of storage as virtual RAM, totaling 7GB.

The Infinix Smart 7 boasts a large 6,000mAh battery, which is impressive, however, it only supports 10W charging, which isn’t the best. The smartphone is driven by a Unison Spreadtrum SC9863A processor and operates on Infinix’s XOS 12, still based on Android 12.

The Infinix Smart 7 stands out as an attractive option within the sub-Rs. 10,000 price range, with its sizable battery being one of its standout features. We invite you to share your thoughts on it in the comments section.
