The developer shared a trailer for the game on Wednesday, highlighting its dynamic cricket gameplay. Bat to Beat offers players a journey across various cricket locales, adding to the experience with unique local beats that include everything from the “one-drop reggae sounds of Jamaica to syncopated rhythms influenced by Bollywood,” as stated in the press release.

The game takes cues from acclaimed rhythm games including Crypt of the NecroDancer, Rhythm Heaven Fever, and Super Hexagon. It is being developed by Baba Black Sheep Games, the studio run by solo developer Kunal Joshi.

Players can currently add Bat to the Beat to their Steam wishlist, and a demo version is also available on the store. The developer mentioned that the demo provides a “preview of what’s to come,” with the complete game featuring additional levels and music.

Players will need to demonstrate rhythm and spatial awareness in Bat to the Beat, making quick decisions to either attempt a high-risk shot or defend with each beat. The game is built using the Unity engine and provides controller support along with an original soundtrack.

Baba Black Sheep Games has released the system requirements for the game on both Windows and macOS. Although a specific release date for Bat to the Beat has not been disclosed, it is confirmed to be available on Steam later this year.
