Unleashing Fitness: Mi Watch Revolve Active Promises Smart Tracking with a Touch of Alexa

The Mi Watch Revolve debuted in September of last year with a price tag of Rs. 10,999, but it has now been reduced to Rs. 7,999. Lacking a voice assistant and with features that didn’t quite help it differentiate itself, Xiaomi has introduced the new Mi Watch Revolve Active. This model includes Alexa support and SpO2 monitoring, which is especially beneficial in light of the ongoing pandemic. Has Xiaomi enhanced its wearable offering? Should you opt for the Mi Watch Revolve Active over its predecessor? I took some time to explore this new device and find out.

Mi Watch Revolve Active Pricing in India

The Mi Watch Revolve Active has a listed price of Rs. 9,999 in India. As part of a promotional offer, Xiaomi is providing a discount of Rs. 1000, reducing the cost to Rs. 8,999. Additionally, there’s an HDFC Bank offer worth Rs. 750, bringing the price to Rs. 8,249. While there are no sizing choices available, it does come in Beige, Black, and Navy Blue with corresponding straps.

The Mi Watch Revolve Active features a 1.39-inch AMOLED display, and since there’s only one size available, it might appear large on smaller wrists. The display is clear and includes an always-on mode. I found the brightness to be adequate, and the watch is equipped with an ambient light sensor that adjusts brightness automatically.

The watch body has a lightweight plastic feel, weighing just 32g without the straps. It is water-resistant up to 5 ATM, making it durable for daily use. On the right side of the watch case, there are two buttons; the upper one opens the app drawer, while the lower button serves as a shortcut for workout tracking. Both buttons provide positive click feedback, allowing for confident inputs. The left side of the watch is devoid of any buttons.

Flipping the watch over reveals several sensors for tracking heart rate, SpO2, and stress levels, as well as connectors for charging. I received a Beige version of the Mi Watch Revolve Active, which has a brown underside.

This watch accommodates 22mm bands, and the included one features quick release pins for easy removal without tools. Xiaomi has stated that it will offer various straps as accessories for the Mi Watch Revolve Active, allowing for simple swapping. The strap material is soft and has a textured finish. It features a standard pin buckle for securing it on your wrist. I found it somewhat challenging to put on due to the texture, but once fitted, it felt secure.

You can connect the Mi Watch Revolve Active to your smartphone via the Xiaomi Wear app. This app is user-friendly, and the initial setup process is seamless. Once connected, you can utilize the app to monitor various metrics recorded by the watch. Logging into Amazon via the app is necessary to enable Alexa functionality on the Mi Watch Revolve Active. I tested Alexa briefly and found its capabilities somewhat limited—more details will be in the full review.

The Xiaomi MI Watch Revolve Active allows you to track heart rate, sleep, SpO2, stress, and workouts. It includes built-in GPS for outdoor activity tracking and a barometer for pressure measurement. The Mi Watch Revolve Active is equipped with a 420mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims can last up to 14 days and can be charged in under two hours with the provided charger.

The interface of the watch bears a resemblance to that of the Mi Watch Revolve, which I previously reviewed. This new watch quickly activates its display when I raise my wrist. Swiping down from the top shows notifications from a connected smartphone, while swiping up from the home screen reveals quick toggles. Moving left or right from the watch face displays different metrics, including heart rate, sleep duration, and stress levels, among others.

As suggested by its name, the Mi Watch Revolve Active is tailored for fitness enthusiasts. Xiaomi appears to have successfully included all the fundamental features. So, should the Mi Watch Revolve Active be your go-to fitness watch? Stay tuned for the comprehensive review for insights.
