Unfolding Innovation: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Set to Launch with Bigger Displays and Cutting-Edge Features

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, rumored to be the next iteration following the Galaxy Z Fold 6 from last year, is anticipated to release in the near future, with fresh information surfacing online. This foldable device may launch with Android 16 pre-installed, featuring Samsung’s One UI 8 interface. Similar to the Galaxy S25 series introduced in January, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is projected to utilize a custom-made Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor.

Expected Specifications for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

Information about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has been shared by Anthony (@TheGalox_), a user on X (formerly Twitter), who suggests that the device will boast a new 200-megapixel main camera, a significant upgrade from the 50-megapixel camera on the current Galaxy Z Fold 6. Improvements are also expected in the under-display camera.

It is reported that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will have an 8-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch outer display, which is an increase from the 7.6-inch and 6.3-inch screens of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. According to the tipster, the new model will feature a more robust display, incorporating «new layers» and a reduced crease on the inner screen.

When opened, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is claimed to be 4.5mm thick, potentially making it approximately 1.1mm slimmer than its predecessor. The source also indicates that the device will provide improved protection against dust and water, with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 currently rated at IP48.

Powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip found in the Galaxy S25 series, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to include a larger vapor chamber for enhanced thermal performance. Additionally, the device is likely to feature upgraded audio components and a new vibration mechanism.

With Google’s plan to roll out Android 16 by Q2 2025, eligible Google Pixel smartphones are set to receive the update by June. Given that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to debut in July, the tipster asserts that it will come with One UI 8, built on Android 16.
