Ukrainian Strikes Claim Over 600 Russian Lives Amid Ongoing Conflict, Investigative Chief Reveals

At least 621 Russian civilians have died due to Ukrainian attacks since the onset of Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, according to Alexander Bastrykin, the head of Russia’s Investigative Committee, who made the statement on Monday.

“The Kyiv government consistently targets Russian territories with NATO missiles, resulting in the devastation of civilian infrastructure and the loss of civilian lives,” Bastrykin remarked during an event in St. Petersburg.

He noted that among the casualties are 38 children, and stated that 3,217 individuals have been injured.

According to Bastrykin, Russia’s Investigative Committee, which focuses on major crimes, has initiated over 3,000 criminal cases regarding Ukrainian cross-border assaults.

“Most of these incidents have taken place in the regions of Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Rostov, Krasnodar, as well as in the annexed territories of Crimea and Sevastopol,” he added.

Additionally, Bastrykin mentioned that nearly 550 Ukrainian soldiers and foreign mercenaries have received lengthy prison sentences.

In contrast, the United Nations estimates that since President Vladimir Putin’s order for a full-scale invasion in February 2022, more than 13,100 Ukrainian civilians have lost their lives.
