Ukrainian Drone Strike Claims Lives in Saratov Residential Area

A drone strike from Ukraine in the central Russian city of Saratov resulted in two fatalities on Saturday, according to local officials.

Throughout nearly four years of conflict in Ukraine, Kyiv has targeted Russia with drone attacks, as Moscow has taken control of significant portions of the country and launched its own drone and missile attacks.

Regional Governor Roman Busargin reported that the drones struck a residential structure in Saratov.

«Two individuals lost their lives,» Busargin shared on Telegram.

“As a consequence of the drone strike, several apartments within the residential building sustained damage,” he noted.

He mentioned that authorities would offer financial assistance to those whose homes were affected.

Saratov is situated on the Volga River, directly across from Engels, which hosts a significant Russian military installation.

While Kyiv has previously targeted this area with drones, Russia is able to intercept many, resulting in infrequent casualties.

Throughout the conflict, Russia has consistently bombarded Ukrainian cities with drones and missiles.

The United States is engaged in discussions with both Moscow and Kyiv to seek an end to the prolonged conflict.
