Trumps Remarkable Restraint Against Zelensky Highlighted by Russian Officials

Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated on Friday that U.S. President Donald Trump demonstrated «restraint» by refraining from striking Ukrainian President Volodyr Zelensky during their heated exchange at the White House.

«I believe that Zelensky’s most significant falsehood among all of his claims was his statement in the White House that the Kyiv government in 2022 was unsupported and alone,» she expressed on Telegram.

«It’s astonishing how Trump and Vance managed to hold back from confronting that scoundrel,» she added.

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, currently serving as deputy head of Russia’s Security Council, referred to Zelensky as an «impertinent pig» who received «an appropriate reprimand in the Oval Office.»

Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, described the intense exchange between Trump and Zelensky as «historic.»

Dmitriev participated as one of Moscow’s negotiators in the U.S.-Russia discussions that took place on February 18 in Saudi Arabia—the first dialogue since Russia initiated its military actions in Ukraine in 2022.
