Tragic Consequences: Ukrainian Drone Strike Claims Young Life in Belgorod

A drone strike by Ukrainian forces on a village in the southwestern Belgorod region resulted in the death of a child and injuries to two others, according to the regional governor on Thursday.

Officials stated that the drone struck an apartment complex in the village of Borisovka in the early hours of Thursday, injuring three individuals, including a toddler aged two.

Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov of Belgorod revealed that the deceased child was the grandson of an elderly woman who was also hurt in the attack. The third victim was a man who happened to be in his apartment during the incident.

All three were transported to a local medical facility, but unfortunately, the child succumbed to his injuries later.

«He was in a state of extreme criticality, and medical staff did everything possible,» Gladkov posted on Telegram. «Sadly, their efforts were not enough to save him.»

The Belgorod region was one of several locations within Russia that experienced a series of Ukrainian drone strikes from Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Authorities in Belgorod reported multiple injuries and damage to buildings, with the Defense Ministry claiming to have intercepted over 40 Ukrainian drones in the border area.

In a parallel development, Ukrainian officials reported that Russian shelling across Ukraine over the past day resulted in the deaths of at least three individuals and left 37 others injured.
