TikTok вводит новые настройки для управления ИИ-контентом в ленте Translation: TikTok Introduces New Settings for Managing AI Content in the Feed

The short video platform TikTok is set to introduce a new feature that allows users to select the amount of AI-generated content in their feed. The technology for tagging such videos has also been improved.

This new functionality will be available under the «Settings and Privacy» section —> «Preferred Content» —> «Topics Management.» Here, users can choose their preferred categories of videos to view.

«The Topics Management feature already enables users to adjust the frequency of content consumption across more than 10 categories, such as ‘Dance,’ ‘Sports,’ and ‘Food and Drinks,'» the company stated in its blog.

TikTok’s announcement comes at a time when other companies, including OpenAI and Meta, are launching services dedicated solely to viewing AI-generated content.

In September, the corporation behind Facebook released Vibes — a service for creating and sharing short, AI-generated videos.

Simultaneously, the developer of ChatGPT introduced Sora — a media platform for generating and publishing AI clips.

Since the launch of the service, realistic videos have been posted on TikTok using LLM technology.

The option to manage the amount of AI content in the feed is expected to roll out in the coming weeks.

TikTok mandates that users label realistic content generated by artificial intelligence. This is done using Content Credentials technology from C2PA, which embeds metadata into the material.

The company noted that such tags could be removed when re-uploading or editing videos on other platforms. Hence, they plan to implement «invisible watermarks» to add an extra layer of protection that is more difficult to eliminate.

The new tagging system will begin to appear on content created using TikTok tools like AI Editor Pro.

Additionally, in August, a TikTok employee, known by the pseudonym Kevin, reported that artificial intelligence complicates rather than simplifies the work of content moderators.
