The Florist: A Retro Horror Game Blossoms with Unique Gameplay and Vibrant Atmosphere

Horror games reminiscent of the classic Resident Evil and Silent Hill continue to hold their ground in the gaming world. One such title, The Florist, has been unveiled by the New Zealand team Unclear Games.

Players take on the role of Jessica Park, a florist delivering beautiful arrangements to the town of Joycliff. However, her journey soon descends into a nightmare as a deadly plague begins to spread across the area. This disease causes uncontrollable floral growth, transforming its victims into monstrous entities. Jessica must rescue the survivors and uncover the mystery of the infernal garden.

The developers promise a classic gameplay experience featuring explorations of fixed-camera locations, puzzle-solving, and combat against horrifying creatures. As night falls, the aggressive plants will acquire new abilities. Information regarding foes and the storyline will be cataloged in an in-game journal.

Unclear Games doesn’t adhere strictly to traditional old-school conventions. In The Florist, players can utilize an unlimited inventory and benefit from auto-saving features. Additional features include customizable difficulty settings, accessibility options, and secret content.

In a landscape filled with horror titles, The Florist stands out with its vibrant atmosphere. Joycliff is not a desolate, grim city; the epidemic has only recently impacted it. Color and lighting serve as key artistic and gameplay elements.

The Florist is set to launch in 2026 on PC via Steam and unspecified consoles. Russian subtitles will be included as well.
