Tekken 8 Developers to Release Emergency Patch Following Player Backlash

Bandai Namco has finally responded to the outcry following the latest balance patch for Tekken 8. The team has promised to prepare an «emergency patch,» expected to be released in mid to late April.

Initially, the developers will address issues related to two moves: Paul’s Hammer of The Gods and Jack-8’s Jab Elbow — Make Some Noise combo. Both of these attacks have uninterruptible properties. According to Bandai Namco, the source of these issues has been identified and will be resolved soon.

Additionally, the team is working on fixing other glitches related to character behavior and the improper functioning of settings. The emergency patch will also include some tweaks that were initially planned for a later release.

Katsuhiro Harada, the head of the Tekken series, has also commented on the situation. He acknowledged that the updated balance does not meet community expectations, but assured that the responsible parties are carefully reviewing player feedback and strategizing on how to improve the game.

It’s worth noting that the launch of the second season for Tekken 8 was quite unfortunate. Developers were inundated with complaints, and the game’s rating on Steam has taken a downturn — recent reviews are now ‘very negative’, and the overall rating has dropped to the yellow zone of «mixed» reviews at 61%.
