Tech Titans Take Center Stage: Highlights from NVIDIA and Samsung at CES 2025

It may sound unbelievable, but we’re nearing the conclusion of January. I want to begin our first review summary of 2025 by acknowledging just how hectic this month has been. CES 2025, which felt like it lasted an eternity to me, now seems like it occurred ages ago. We’ve seen TikTok vanish and return, a new president sworn in, and Samsung reveal new phones. In spite of everything happening, our reviewers have been diligently working, with Devindra evaluating the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 and Billy assessing various headphones and grills. So much for a slow start to 2025.

Before I provide the complete overview, I’d like to highlight some reviews we released in the latter part of December, in addition to others we just updated. Normally, this article is published bi-weekly, but due to the holiday season, CES, and Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, we had to skip a few editions. During that time, I missed the opportunity to inform you about our re-evaluations of gaming consoles released years ago, such as the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5. We aimed to reassess our opinions of these systems and their associated game libraries, to see how they compare today.

The team has also published and refreshed reviews of colorful Kindles, an Intel processor, a Samsung Chromebook, and other items. Here’s a summarized list, but you can always visit our Reviews page to browse at your own pace, if you prefer:

If you missed it, instead of a conventional review summary, we put together a list of the 12 highest-rated products we reviewed last year. Just a spoiler: the list featured numerous flagship smartphones, cameras, and drones. I also included the two least impressive gadgets we’ve ever reviewed, but you’ll have to guess which ones they are. Or you could just read the article, if you prefer.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 boasts remarkable speed thanks to DLSS 4, but at a hefty price of $2,000, it’s not something for everyone.

Pros

  • Exceptional speed
  • DLSS4 frame generation performs admirably
  • Top-notch cooling system
Cons

  • Pricey
  • Questionable cost
  • Extremely power-intensive

$2,000 at Besy Buy

If you’re in the market for a $2,000 GPU, the GeForce RTX 5090 could be worth your consideration. It’s fast and powerful, and according to Devindra, NVIDIA’s frame generation is quite impressive. However, for those of us with more sensible budgets, NVIDIA’s flagship model may be out of reach. We’re likely eyeing the $550 RTX 5070, and I eagerly await its review to see how it compares to this much pricier offering.
