The 86th-ranked player in the world, 37-year-old German tennis player **Tatjana Maria**, has become the oldest female tennis player to win a WTA title since the 23-time Grand Slam champion, American **Serena Williams**. In the final of the WTA 500 grass tournament in London, Maria defeated the world’s 15th-ranked player, American Amanda Anisimova, with a score of 6-3, 6-4.

At the age of 38, Serena Williams clinched the title at the WTA 250 hard court tournament in Auckland, defeating her fellow American Jessica Pegula 6-3, 6-4 in the final.

The triumph in London marked Tatjana Maria’s fourth career title in singles. It’s noteworthy that she advanced to the main draw after successfully navigating through the qualifying rounds.
