Take-Two CEO: PC Gaming Rises, But Consoles Remain Indispensable

The longstanding debate of «PC versus consoles» has taken a new turn: in a conversation with CNBC, the CEO of **Take-Two**, Strauss Zelnick, asserted that the industry is set to shift more towards open platforms over the next decade.

According to Zelnick, PC gaming is gaining increasing traction, yet it’s important not to underestimate the enduring presence of consoles, which represent closed systems.

Zelnick’s insights are reflected in current industry trends. For instance, **Microsoft** is preparing to launch a next-generation console but emphasizes that «everything can be Xbox.» Meanwhile, **Valve** has unveiled a new Steam Machine, a device that closely resembles a console but is ultimately a compact PC.

Despite the aforementioned perspective, **Take-Two** is in no hurry to announce a version of **Grand Theft Auto VI** for non-native platforms; the game has only been confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. The release date has once again been pushed back, now slated for November 19, 2026.
