Sushinsky: Fan ID Fails to Deter Fights Among Hockey Fans

The world hockey champion Maxim Sushinsky shared his thoughts on the altercation between fans of SKA and the Shanghai Dragons, and discussed the practicality of implementing a Fan ID system in hockey.

«What difference would it make if that person had a Fan ID? I can say with complete confidence that it wouldn’t change anything. He would still have gotten into a fight both with and without a Fan ID. It’s likely that the confrontation stemmed from some everyday disagreements rather than the game itself. Nowadays, hockey primarily attracts peaceful fans; people come with their families to enjoy the experience. Thus, in such cases, a Fan ID has no impact at all,» Sushinsky’s comments were reported by «Soviet Sport.»
