Spartak Finishes RPL Season with Lowest Opponent Expected Goals Metric

Moscow’s Spartak finished the Russian Premier League season with the lowest expected goals against (xGA) statistic, as reported by the Telegram channel «RUSTAT». The red-and-whites accumulated 63.21 expected goals (xG) while allowing 31.57 expected goals against (oxG).

It’s noteworthy that Spartak conceded 25 goals over the course of 30 matches in the Russian Premier League. The only teams with fewer goals against were Krasnodar (23), Zenit (18), and CSKA (21). At the end of the 2024/2025 season, Krasnodar claimed the championship title, marking their first in history. Zenit finished in second place, while CSKA rounded out the top three.

Spartak ended up in fourth place. Promoted directly from the Russian Premier League were Voronezh’s Fakel and Orenburg, who faced relegation.
