The Solana Mobile team has unveiled the native token of its ecosystem — SKR. The launch of the asset and the introduction of staking are scheduled for January 21, 2026.

SKR is set to serve as a governance tool for the platform, facilitating reward distribution among developers, users, and partners. The total supply will be capped at 10 billion coins.

Project tokenomics:

With the token launch, the developers will introduce a new role — «Guardians.» These operators will be responsible for the platform’s security, employing TEEPIN architecture. They will also verify device authenticity, approve applications in the dApp Store, and ensure community rules are upheld.

This approach aims to decentralize moderation and eliminate the dominance of a single company, which is often seen in traditional platforms. The first «Guardians» will include Anza, DoubleZero, Triton, Helius, and Jito.

Holders of SKR will be able to delegate their tokens to «Guardians» for network protection and income generation. The withdrawal period from staking will span two epochs (two days).

Solana Mobile also reminded users about the Seeker smartphone. Owners of this device will gain access to exclusive applications and rewards in SKR. Currently, more than 150,000 devices are already connected to the ecosystem.

It’s worth noting that in December, the Solana Foundation entered into a partnership with Project Eleven to prepare the network for potential threats posed by quantum computers.
