Silkin: Departure of Babaev from Dynamo Might Be Right, But to Spartak Is a Concern

Former coach of Moscow’s «Dynamo,» **Sergei Silkin**, shared his thoughts on the potential transfer of the white-blue’s forward **Ulvi Babaev** to «Spartak.»

«Babaev had playing time under Karpenko, but with Gusev, he played less. Despite his age, he is among the top ten players. However, moving to ‘Spartak,’ a rival… It would be difficult to bring him back if he performs well there, and the fans’ attitude might sour.

At ‘Spartak,’ things could go in various directions. Take Tashaev, for instance, who was mentioned by Stepashin. He left ‘Dynamo’ because he was friends with Zobnin. They played well together, but while one thrived at ‘Spartak,’ the other didn’t. Losing Babaev would definitely be a blow to ‘Dynamo.’ But if he’s promised a spot at ‘Spartak’ and isn’t valued here, perhaps a transfer would make sense. The downside is that they are direct competitors,» Silkin commented in an interview with Championship correspondent Alexander Ershov.
