Silent Hill f: A Haunting New Tale Set in 1960s Japan with a Schoolgirl Protagonist

Konami held an official presentation for Silent Hill f two and a half years after the game was first announced. Unfortunately, the developers did not provide a release date, but they did unveil an atmospheric trailer that reveals the story’s premise.

Contrary to what the title suggests, players will not be venturing into the notorious Silent Hill in Silent Hill f, but rather to a fictional Japanese town called Ebisu-ga-oka, set in the 1960s. The protagonist is a schoolgirl named Hinako Shimizu, whose life has turned into a nightmare after a mysterious fog envelops the town. As she navigates through a distorted realm of nightmares, she must solve puzzles and fight off monsters to survive. The central theme of Silent Hill f revolves around «embracing the beauty hidden within horror.»

The game is being developed by the Taiwanese studio NeoBards Entertainment, while the narrative is crafted by the renowned Japanese novelist Ryukishi07, known to gamers for works like “When They Cry” and “When Seagulls Cry.” The legendary Akira Yamaoka is among the composers, and artist Kera is responsible for monster and character designs.

Below are some comments from the lead developers:

Along with the story trailer presentation, the developers shared the system requirements for the PC version:

— «Performance» mode: 720p at 30 fps.
— «Performance» mode: 1080p at 60 fps.
— «Quality» mode: 1080p at 30 fps.

Silent Hill f is being developed for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series with Russian text localization. There is no release date yet, but the game can already be added to wishlists.
