Shift Up Unveils Ambitious Plans for Stellar Blade Sequel, Eyeing Release Before 2027

Stellar Blade, the action title created by the Korean studio Shift Up, is set to receive a sequel. Just days after the announcement of its PC version, the developer discreetly disclosed its future franchise plans during its most recent quarterly earnings call. According to a slide from the investor presentation regarding Shift Up’s financial report for the first quarter, the sequel to Stellar Blade is expected to be released before 2027. The original Stellar Blade debuted last year as a PS5 exclusive published by Sony and is scheduled to come to PC next month.

Stellar Blade Sequel Announced

During an investor presentation that detailed the studio’s financial performance for the first quarter of 2025, as well as the status of its intellectual properties, trends in the gaming industry, and future strategies, a chart confirmed the existence of a Stellar Blade sequel.

The chart indicates plans for expanding the game’s platforms, aligning with the PC release set for June, before revealing details about the upcoming sequel. The follow-up to Stellar Blade is anticipated to launch before 2027. Additionally, the chart references Project Witches, the working title for Shift Up’s next AAA action-RPG that is currently in development.

In their Q1 2025 earnings statement, Shift Up confirmed that Project Witches is scheduled for launch in 2027.

“The game is in development with the aim for a 2027 release, and progress is proceeding well. From Q2 this year, we will start to engage with the capital market and our users gradually,” the company noted.

Details regarding the Stellar Blade sequel remain scarce, and there has been no official title announcement yet. It is also possible that the game will launch as a PS5 exclusive.

According to Shift Up, Stellar Blade has “maintained a steady performance in Q1 2025”, with total sales surpassing pre-launch forecasts. By February 2025, the action game had sold over two million copies.

Stellar Blade is confirmed to release on PC (through Steam and the Epic Games Store) on June 11. This version will feature new content, unlocked framerates, and additional platform-specific enhancements. The game originally launched on PS5 on April 26, 2024.
