Semshov Predicts Stankovics Fate at Spartak: Changes May Come After New Year

Former Russian national team footballer Igor Semshov expressed his views on the potential dismissal of Serbian coach Dejan Shtankovich from his position as head coach of Moscow’s Spartak.

«I don’t think anything will happen right now. There are only a few rounds left before the winter break and some cup matches. It probably makes no sense to change Shtankovich before the New Year. Afterwards, there could be some changes. Everyone is used to hearing rumors about talks with other coaches. The best response is results. If there are no results, then we’ll have to say goodbye,» Semshov said during a broadcast on Match TV.

Earlier reports indicated that the red-and-whites are considering Spanish coach Albert Riera as a potential candidate for the head coach position should Shtankovich be let go.

As of today, Spartak is in sixth place in the RPL standings, holding 22 points.
