Seize the Moment: Mostovoy Analyzes Safonovs First PSG Game of the Season

Former Spartak Moscow player and Russian national team member, **Alexander Mostovoy**, commented on the first match since May for Russian goalkeeper **Matvey Safonov** with **PSG**. The Parisian team secured a decisive 5-0 victory over **Rennes** in a Ligue 1 match, where the Russian stepped in for the injured first-choice keeper **Luc Shevalier**.

“Safonov was able to play because Shevalier sustained an injury. If Shevalier hadn’t gotten hurt, Safonov wouldn’t have had this opportunity. Even he would agree with that. It’s important to seize your chances, and a chance arose when Shevalier got injured and will be out for a while,” Mostovoy stated in an interview with Championship correspondent Nikolai Baranov.

In the game against Rennes, Safonov made two saves (0.15 xGoT) and had an impressive passing accuracy of 81% (21 out of 26 passes).
