Samsungs Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 Appear on 3C Certification in China, Set to Maintain Previous Charging Speeds

Reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 are in development, with various sources recently revealing details about their specifications. As we anticipate a potential launch event in July, Samsung’s foldable devices for 2025 have reportedly appeared on China’s Compulsory Certification (3C) database, indicating their charging capabilities. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 might retain the same charging rates as their predecessors. Prior leaks have indicated that the foldable book-style device may feature a 4,400mAh battery, whereas the Galaxy Z Flip 7 might include a 4,300mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 Reportedly Certified in China

According to leaker Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd), the unannounced Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 have been listed on the 3C website with model numbers SM-F9660 and SM-F7660, respectively. The leaked images of the listing shared by the tipster indicate that the devices are compatible with a charger labeled as EP-TA800, which supports wired charging speeds of up to 25W.

The previous generation of devices, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6, both support the same 25W wired charging speed. If Samsung maintains this charging speed for the upcoming models, they could fall behind the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra, which feature faster charging capabilities of 45W. The newly launched Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G also support charging at 45W.

Furthermore, the rumored 3C listing indicates that both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will not come with a charger included in the retail packaging, which is hardly surprising.

Recent leaks suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will retain the same 4,400mAh battery as the Galaxy Z Fold 6. In contrast, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 may feature a marginally larger 4,300mAh battery compared to the 4,000mAh battery in the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

The official unveiling of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected at Samsung’s second Galaxy Unpacked event in July. They might debut alongside Samsung’s first tri-fold smartphone. It is believed that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC, while the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is reportedly expected to utilize Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chipset.
