Samsung Set to Make Waves with Tri-Fold Smartphone Launch at Galaxy Unpacked Event on July 9

The debut of Samsung’s inaugural tri-fold smartphone might coincide with the launch of the forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, as per a source. The South Korean tech giant is anticipated to unveil its latest foldable models on July 9, alongside the new Galaxy Watch 8 series. Although the tri-fold smartphone might be introduced at the next Galaxy Unpacked event, it is likely to be available later in the year. This device is expected to hit the market a year after the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate, recognized as the first commercially released tri-fold smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold Phone Expected to Launch in October

A user from Weibo known as Instant Digital (translated from Chinese) indicates that Samsung plans to officially reveal its first tri-fold smartphone (or the Galaxy G Fold) at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, which will also see the introduction of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Additionally, the Galaxy Watch 8 series is expected to be revealed at this event.

Although the rumored Galaxy G Fold foldable phone may be announced on July 9, it is not anticipated to be available for purchase alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7. Earlier this year, Samsung hinted at the introduction of the Galaxy S25 Edge at its first Galaxy Unpacked event, with the device becoming available for sale in May. In the same vein, the Galaxy tri-fold smartphone is anticipated to debut in October, according to the tipster.

Limited information is available about the Galaxy tri-fold phone, but Samsung has previously displayed numerous foldable prototypes at various expos in recent years. Among these are Flex Slidable, Flex S, and Flex G concept panels. A recent report suggested that the upcoming Galaxy G Fold might be priced at over $3,000 (approximately Rs. 2.56 lakh) and may incorporate a silicon-carbon battery.

In addition to the anticipated Samsung Galaxy tri-fold phone and the forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Watch 8 series, the firm is also likely to provide further details about its Android XR headset, which is codenamed Project Moohan. Furthermore, Samsung is reportedly developing an advanced pair of AR glasses, which might also be highlighted at the event.
