Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Set to Retain Exynos 2400 Chip, Echoing Last Years Model

It is reported that the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is currently under development as the next iteration of the Galaxy S24 FE, which was released last year. Although the South Korean manufacturer has yet to officially confirm its development, this new ‘Fan Edition’ smartphone is anticipated to launch by the end of the third quarter of 2025 or perhaps at the beginning of the fourth quarter. According to a recent report, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE may debut featuring an Exynos chipset similar to the one used in last year’s version. The new Galaxy S25 FE is expected to be a simplified variant of the Samsung Galaxy S25.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Expected to Include an Exynos 2400e Chip

As per Android Authority’s report, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, codenamed R13, is presently in development. The previous Galaxy S24 FE model was designated R12, while the Galaxy S23 FE was labeled R11. Internal coding observed by the publication suggests that the new device will feature the same chipset as the Galaxy S24 FE.

The codename — siop_r13s_s5e9945 — indicates that the Galaxy S25 FE is expected to utilize the S5e9945 processor, which corresponds to the Samsung Exynos 2400/2400e chipset. If this holds true, then the Galaxy S25 FE would incorporate the identical Exynos processor found in last year’s model.

Samsung equipped the last year’s Galaxy S24 FE with the Exynos 2400e processor. It appears that this year, Samsung might entirely bypass any chipset upgrades by using the same processor as in the new edition. Furthermore, the company is rumored to use the same Exynos 2400e in the Galaxy Z Flip FE.

This leads to the notion that the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE will contain a chip that is significantly less robust compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite and MediaTek Dimensity 9400. Reports suggest that it may even lag behind the previous Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC regarding performance. The launch of this device is anticipated later this year, serving as a budget-friendly alternative to the standard Samsung Galaxy S25.

In addition, the report notes that the Indian variant of the Galaxy M36 5G is expected to be powered by the Exynos 1380 processor, which is the same chipset found in the current Galaxy M35 5G.

The Galaxy S24 FE was unveiled in September 2024 with a starting price of Rs. 59,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model. It features a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED display boasting a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is equipped with 8GB of RAM and offers up to 512GB of internal storage. It showcases a triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary lens alongside a 10-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone supports Galaxy AI features and is powered by a 4,700mAh battery with 25W wired charging capabilities.
