Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Review: Premium Elegance Meets High-Performance Tech

With its Galaxy Book series, Samsung has been consistently making an impact in the high-end laptop market. This line of laptops showcases a premium design aesthetic paired with cutting-edge displays. This year, the company has updated its offerings with the introduction of the Galaxy Book4 Pro and Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 in India. We will focus on the latter today. The newest 2-in-1 laptop from Samsung retains the familiar design cues of its predecessors. What’s new, however, is the latest generation of Ultra processors along with some intriguing AI functionalities. Given the steep price of Rs 1,79,990, does investing in this slim and lightweight ultrabook make sense? Let’s explore this in our detailed review.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Design: Elegant and Durable

  • Dimensions — 355.4 x 252.2 x 12.8 mm
  • Weight — 1.66kg
  • Colors — Moonstone Gray

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 features a design reminiscent of its previous Galaxy Book Pro 360 models. However, this is not necessarily a drawback, as it remains one of the thinnest and lightest 2-in-1 options on the market, measuring just 12.8mm thick and weighing 1.66kg.

The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 boasts a sleek all-metal body.

Samsung has successfully crafted a luxurious all-metal body that provides a robust yet refined look and feel. Even though the laptop is quite slender, the expansive 16-inch display necessitates a suitably sized bag for transport. Additionally, the 360-degree hinge has been engineered for stability; you won’t experience any wobbling when lifting the lid.

The device is offered in a subtle Moonstone Gray finish, and its matte surface resists fingerprints and smudges effectively. Upon opening the lid, a full-size keyboard and a generous trackpad await you. On the right side, you will discover a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 port, and a microSD card slot.

On the laptop’s left side, there are two USB-C 4.0 ports with Thunderbolt capabilities and an HDMI 2.1 port. Overall, the construction and aesthetics of the laptop certainly position it as a high-end product, and Samsung has done well to deliver a robust machine.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Display: Sharp and Smooth

  • Display — 16.0-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreen
  • Resolution — 3K (2880 x 1800 pixels)
  • Refresh Rate — Up to 120Hz

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 fully leverages AMOLED display technology to deliver vivid and sharp colors. Users can also adjust display profiles according to preference, with options for Standard and Vivid modes, the latter of which is advisable for enhanced color saturation.

The 3K AMOLED display of the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 provides clear visuals.

This display also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring a smooth user experience. While viewing «Lost in Space» on Netflix, the blacks appeared rich, and the dynamic range was impressive.

The 3K screen delivers a commendable brightness of 500 nits, making it suitable for outdoor use. It also features wide viewing angles, which is quite beneficial. Additionally, the anti-reflective coating minimizes glare, enhancing the viewing experience. The touchscreen is responsive and precise, especially enjoyable when used in tent mode.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Keyboard, Touchpad, Speakers, and Webcam: Mixed Experiences

  • Keyboard — Full-size backlit keyboard
  • Webcam — 1080p high-resolution wide-angle camera
  • Speakers — Quad Speaker system

This laptop features a full-size backlit keyboard. The chiclet-style keys offer short travel distance and some noticeable typing noise, adding to the overall typing experience. However, the keyboard may feel a bit cramped for extensive typing, requiring an adjustment period to master.

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 includes a full-size backlit keyboard.

The keyboard includes a dedicated power button that also functions as a fingerprint scanner located at the upper right. However, the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 lacks a facial login feature through Windows Hello, which seems unusual at this price point. That said, the fingerprint sensor generally works quickly, though I’ve encountered instances where it failed randomly, necessitating a restart to function properly again.

As for the touchpad, it is among the largest I’ve seen on a laptop. It is responsive and smooth, and gesture controls can be customized via Settings > Touchpad.

Equipped with a quad-speaker system, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 provides quality audio output. The speakers offer satisfactory depth and do not distort at higher volumes. The webcam performs well and supports Windows Studio Effects, enabling features such as auto-framing and portrait blur.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Software: Enhanced Experience with Flagship Galaxy Phone

  • Operating System — Windows 11
  • Other Features — Copilot Plus

Running Windows 11, the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 incorporates the Copilot AI tool with various functionalities. I utilized Copilot for article summarization to facilitate easier reading. In addition, the device is bundled with a range of applications.

The device is powered by the latest Intel Ultra Core processors.

You can access the Galaxy Experience app to explore several applications, such as Samsung Notes, Quick Search, Samsung Gallery, Live Wallpaper, Samsung Studio, and more. Moreover, if you own a Galaxy smartphone, you can enjoy connectivity features like using your phone as a webcam for video calls, dragging and dropping files between your phone and laptop, quick sharing, and much more.

The package also includes an S-Pen, which is highly responsive and ergonomically designed. The S-Pen supports Air Commands, facilitating access to various functions. Among the most useful are Smart Select, which captures screenshots, and Smart Write, which allows note-taking on screenshots. Both features are particularly advantageous for creators, and shortcuts can be added in the Air Command menu.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Performance: Robust Performance

  • Chipset — Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor 155H
  • RAM — 16 GB LPDDR5X
  • ROM — 1TB NVMe SSD
  • GPU — Intel Arc Graphics

In terms of performance, the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 meets expectations. I tested the Intel Core Ultra 7 variant, and it handles daily tasks effortlessly. The laptop operates smoothly while multitasking across various applications. Below are the benchmark results:

Benchmark Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360
Cinebench R23 Single Core 11752
Cinebench R23 Multi Core 10,961
Geekbench 6 Single Core 2,380
Geekbench 6 Multi Core 12571
PC Mark 10 6640
3DMark Night Raid 25,726
3DMark CPU Profile 7,234
CrystalDiskMark 3754.35 MB/s (Read)/ 2641.51 MB/s (Write)

Additionally, I faced minimal hiccups during demanding tasks, which included numerous Chrome tabs, YouTube streaming in the background, toggling between Slack and Chrome, and utilizing Copilot to summarize articles.

The Ultra SoC is also suitable for some casual gaming, but don’t anticipate stellar performance with popular AAA games. However, thermal management needs enhancement; I noticed the laptop becoming warm during extensive use.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Battery: Quite Impressive

  • Battery Capacity — 76 Wh (Typical)
  • Fast Charging — 64W USB Type-C Adapter

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 provides commendable battery life. With a balanced power profile, I achieved nearly seven hours of battery performance under moderate use. With intensive usage, it lasted around five hours. The device comes with a compact 68W fast charger, capable of fully charging the laptop from 5 percent to 100 percent in just 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 Final Thoughts

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 combines a premium design with noteworthy features.

The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Pro strikes a fine balance between high-end design and flagship-level performance. Its all-metal body imparts a robust yet luxurious appearance, while the lightweight form factor is certainly advantageous. The performance aligns with expectations for a thin, lightweight ultrabook in this price segment. The display is sharp and emerges as one of the device’s strong aspects. Furthermore, the battery life is impressive, along with the inclusion of rapid charging capabilities.

However, this price bracket features stiff competition. The HP Spectre x360, Asus Zenbook 14 OLED, and Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 present similar specifications and performance. Therefore, if you’re in the market for a lightweight, 2-in-1 laptop and already use a Samsung phone, the Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 may seamlessly integrate into your ecosystem.
