Russian Defense Ministry Reports Destruction of Over 100 Ukrainian Drones amid Escalating Attacks Across Regions

On Friday, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that its air defense systems had successfully shot down 105 Ukrainian drones across the nation from Thursday night to Friday morning.

The majority of the intercepts occurred in western and southern Russia, particularly in regions adjacent to Ukraine, such as Bryansk, Rostov, Krasnodar, Kursk, Voronezh, and Belgorod. In Belgorod, officials reported that at least four individuals sustained injuries due to drone strikes over the previous 24 hours.

In Krasnodar city, debris from a downed drone impacted a train station, damaging a passenger carriage and resulting in two injuries, according to local authorities. Additionally, there were reports of minor damage to residential structures in the area.

Russian Railways indicated that the incident in Krasnodar, coupled with drone-related damage to railway assets in the neighboring Rostov region, led to considerable disruptions, causing multiple train delays.

Authorities in the Stavropol region noted what they described as the most extensive drone attack in the area since the onset of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, claiming that 37 drones had been intercepted, with no casualties reported.

The Defense Ministry confirmed the interception of five drones specifically over the Stavropol region.

Meanwhile, airports throughout southern Russia experienced temporary flight restrictions, including in the popular Black Sea resort city of Sochi, where numerous flights faced delays.
