Russell Reflects on Competitive Edge Against Piastri After Bahrain Qualifying Victory

The Mercedes driver, British Formula 1 racer **[George Russell](https://www.example.com/tags/27971-george-russell/)**, shared his thoughts on the results of the Bahrain Grand Prix qualifying, where he ultimately secured second place, behind **Oscar Piastri** from McLaren.

“If someone had told us we’d finish second, we would’ve gladly accepted it. Congratulations to Oscar for his impressive lap. As night fell and the track cooled, we kept getting faster. Securing second place gives us a solid opportunity for the race tomorrow, but we need to stay realistic,” Russell said, as reported by Sky Sports.

It’s worth noting that following the first three Grand Prix events, McLaren currently leads the Constructors’ Championship with 111 points, while Mercedes is in second place with only 75 points.
