Rumors Surface About an Elden Ring Film Adaptation from a Questionable Source

Last night, a lesser-known outlet, Nexus Point News, released an exclusive article announcing a film adaptation of Elden Ring. The report claimed that the production would be handled by the studio A24, with Alex Garland taking on the directorial role. Shortly after its publication, the article was removed, leaving readers to speculate whether it was an early release or simply a rumor.

More reputable media outlet The Verge attempted to conduct its own investigation, but representatives from both Nexus Point News and A24 declined to comment. Meanwhile, Alex Garland, known for his previous works as writer for “28 Days Later” and director of “Annihilation,” announced that he would be taking a break from directing in 2024, with no updates on a potential return.

Nevertheless, rumors regarding an adaptation of Elden Ring have circulated for several months. Last summer, the author George R. R. Martin reacted to the speculations, humorously stating that he “knew nothing at all.” Later, in an interview with IGN this February, Martin mentioned that there were “discussions about making a film based on Elden Ring,” but could not provide further details.

It’s worth noting that Martin contributed to the creation of the Elden Ring universe, and in 2023, he was awarded the Nebula Award by the American Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association for his work on the game.
