Rumor: Upcoming DLC for The Witcher 3 May Take Players to the Desert Region of Zerrikania

For several months now, a rumor has been circulating online that this year, **CD Projekt RED** might unexpectedly release a third DLC for **The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt**. Recently, the Polish branch of **IGN** fueled the speculation by revealing a potential setting for the upcoming expansion.

Journalists claim that they had received information several years ago indicating that **CDPR** showed significant interest in the desert region of Zerrikania. At that time, they chose not to report it as there was only one source pointing towards a possible expansion, but now other hints have emerged. It is believed that the Witcher school of the Manticore will play a crucial role in the storyline, with its members mentioned in the DLC «Blood and Wine.» Nevertheless, this information should be taken with caution.

In other notable news, the team from **Eurogamer** has spoken with analyst **Mateusz Chrzanowski** from **Noble Securities**. According to him, several independent sources suggest that **CD Projekt RED** will release the expansion no later than May 2026. This aligns with the studio’s plans for a developer incentive program.

**CDPR’s** management has outlined bonuses for their employees if they can generate over two billion złoty for the company between 2025 and 2028. The analyst calculated the studio’s current revenue and identified a significant timeframe that could accommodate a large expansion.

**Mateusz Chrzanowski** specifically mentioned **The Thaumaturge**, as rumors indicate that the creators from **Fool’s Theory** have been tasked with the development of the new DLC. It’s also worth noting that **Fool’s Theory** is responsible for the full-scale remake of the first **The Witcher**, which is expected to be released only after **The Witcher IV**.
