RPL President Alaev Reflects on First Half of Season Performance

The president of the Russian Premier League, **Alexander Alaev**, shared his thoughts on the first half of the Russian championship season.

**“How would you rate the first half of the season?”**
**“Excellent.”**

**“Any complaints?”**
**“There are always some complaints. Overall, I view the first part of the season a bit differently than in the past, as it represents a transition phase for us. Our collaboration with partners and sponsors, as well as the signing of commercial contracts, play a crucial role here. Everyone is aware of our recent announcement regarding the television deal with Gazprom Media.”**

Considering the completion of 18 rounds and the absence of significant organizational scandals—aside from the match between Acron and Pari NN—there’s really not much to criticize. No one monitors the weather forecast for weekends as closely as I do since November 1st (smiles). If we disregard the foggy match that disappointed viewers… yes, there were unfortunate officiating errors, and those will always happen. However, we haven’t faced any major controversial refereeing situations like we did in previous seasons, where certain referees were often accused of bias. This year has seen many mistakes and varying interpretations, but these are just part of the job,” Alaev commented in a segment on the YouTube channel “This is Football, Brother!”.
