Redefining Style in Smartwatches: A Comprehensive Look at the NoiseFit Origin

NoiseFit Origin marks the brand’s latest entry into the premium smartwatch market. Known for its budget-friendly options, this model distinguishes itself with a notably higher price point compared to other NoiseFit products. This raises the question: does it offer something exceptional to justify the cost? On paper, the smartwatch presents an impressive array of features, including an EN1 processor, a revamped user interface (UI), refined haptics, an AMOLED display, and a high-quality design, all aimed at providing an outstanding smartwatch experience. But do these features translate into effective real-world performance?

My first impressions of the smartwatch were generally favorable, despite encountering a few issues with the accuracy of some health monitoring sensors and the overall quality of calls. After spending a month with it, I was able to thoroughly explore every aspect. Ultimately, the NoiseFit Origin will likely appeal greatly to those who prioritize aesthetics and style.

The price of the NoiseFit Origin smartwatch in India is set at Rs. 6,499, and it’s available in a single size with two strap options: leather and silicone. The smartwatch comes in six different color options: Classic Black, Classic Brown, Jet Black, Midnight Black, Mosaic Blue, and Silver Grey. For my review, I received the Mosaic Blue variant with a silicone strap. Included in the packaging were a user manual and a magnetic charging cable.

NoiseFit Origin Review Design and Display: A solid choice

  • Display — 1.46-inch, AMOLED
  • Case Material — Stainless Steel
  • Ingress Protection — IP68 (up to 3ATM)

Design is often a subjective matter, yet the NoiseFit Origin stands out as one of the more visually appealing smartwatches in the under-Rs. 10,000 category. It features a round dial, a case composed of stainless steel, and a rotating crown. Although it doesn’t possess the tactile feedback of the digital crown on an Apple Watch, it’s functional rather than merely decorative. All controls are situated on the right side of the smartwatch, making it accessible for left-handed users like myself. Additionally, a side button can be programmed for various functions. Collectively, these elements afford the smartwatch a refined appearance without being overly extravagant.

Changing straps is a breeze, with various options available for purchase on the brand’s website. The included silicone strap is comfortable even in the currently humid conditions of Delhi. The back of the NoiseFit Origin includes all the essential sensors and two magnetic pins for charging. Thankfully, the pins do not contact the skin, a common issue found in many other smartwatches.

The NoiseFit Origin boasts a 1.46-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466×466 pixels, a 60Hz refresh rate, and an always-on display functionality. The visual experience is sharp, featuring vibrant colors and sufficient brightness levels, though it lacks an auto-brightness feature. While the bezel is quite thick, it is slightly elevated, which exposes the glass to potential wear. However, it did not acquire any scratches during the review period. In terms of durability, it is rated IP68, ensuring up to 3 ATM water resistance, which successfully protects the smartwatch during perspiration and heavy rain.

NoiseFit Origin Review Performance: Encouraging

  • Processor — EN1
  • Software — Nebula UI
  • Battery — 300mAh

The NoiseFit Origin introduces two innovative technologies: the EN1 processor, designed for quick performance, and Nebula UI, which promises to offer more features compared to its less premium counterparts. The user experience is generally smooth without any substantial lag.

Like most smartwatches, the NoiseFit Origin includes various gestures, such as Raise to Wake and Cover to Sleep. Swiping right displays several health monitoring charts, swiping down opens notifications, while swiping up reveals the quick action menu. Most sections are easy to navigate, though the notification panel can be cumbersome when multiple alerts clutter the interface. Gesture controls for muting calls and taking photos with wrist movements also function reasonably well.

The smartwatch provides numerous health and fitness tracking features, including step tracking, continuous heart rate monitoring, and SpO2 tracking, which have become standard even for budget smartwatches these days. While step tracking proves fairly accurate, the latter two can be hit-or-miss. Notably, the smartwatch lacks GPS and an accelerometer. One of my frequently used features during the review was Rapid Health—a convenient tool for monitoring various health metrics with just one tap.

Bluetooth calling operates effectively indoors, but the absence of background noise cancellation outside can be a drawback. Although the smartwatch does support WhatsApp calls, it curiously lacks the display of contact names.

Pairing the NoiseFit Origin with a smartphone is a straightforward process, even for iPhone users. There’s a companion NoiseFit app available on the App Store, which allows users to customize watch faces, enable Bluetooth calling, monitor health metrics, and set SOS contacts. A Step Streak feature even motivates users to achieve their step goals in order to earn coins and badges.

The smartwatch claims a battery life of up to seven days, and it nearly meets this expectation, lasting six days on a single charge with always-on display (AOD) disabled. However, enabling AOD reduces this to just two days. The magnetic charging cable connects to the back of the smartwatch and can fully charge it within two hours. However, due to its design, it can easily disconnect with a slight movement which means extra care is needed to ensure a complete charge overnight.

NoiseFit Origin Review: Conclusion

The NoiseFit Origin impresses with its premium design, satisfactory UI (which integrates well with the functional crown), and a wealth of health-related features, addressing key concerns for many budget-conscious smartwatch shoppers. Though it lacks certain prominent features like GPS, an accelerometer, and auto-brightness, it offers a variety of attributes that enhance the overall user experience. However, if you are in search of reliable fitness tracking, this smartwatch might not be your best choice.
