Pudu Robotics Unveils the Innovative FlashBot Arm Service Robot for Commercial Use

Chinese company Pudu Robotics has unveiled a semi-humanoid robot powered by artificial intelligence, specifically designed for commercial service environments. The FlashBot Arm is intended for use in hotels, offices, restaurants, retail stores, and hospitals.

According to the developers, the FlashBot Arm «integrates advanced manipulation capabilities with a smart delivery system.» The robot is equipped to analyze its surroundings, make decisions, and perform tasks in real-time.

It features two manipulators with seven degrees of freedom and can operate within a radius of up to two meters. The robot’s «hands,» known as PUDU DH11, have 11 degrees of freedom, enabling precise actions such as pushing buttons and picking up and transporting items. This adaptability allows the robot to handle various tasks without needing modifications to the existing infrastructure of the environment.

FlashBot Arm is equipped with VSLAM and SLAM technologies to create 3D maps of its surroundings, enabling it to navigate autonomously and avoid obstacles. It carries loads in a sealed compartment and moves using a wheeled chassis.

With its natural language processing capabilities, the FlashBot Arm can engage in conversations with users, make informed decisions, and plan sequences of actions. When presented with a request, the robot swiftly analyzes the task and breaks it down into smaller subtasks, coordinating its efforts with other robots in the vicinity. Users can also interact with the robot through voice commands, gestures, and facial expressions.

The FlashBot Arm is outfitted with a range of high-precision sensors, including RGBD cameras, lidar, panoramic cameras, and pressure-sensitive skin, allowing it to halt immediately upon encountering obstacles.

Pudu Robotics holds over a thousand patents in the field of robotics. Their robots are extensively utilized across various sectors, such as food service, retail, hospitality, healthcare, entertainment, education, and industry. To date, Pudu Robotics has delivered more than 90,000 units of its devices to markets in over 60 countries.
