Pogrebnyak: Losing a Legend Like Akinfeev Would Be a Blow for CSKA in the Upcoming Derby

Former Russian striker Pavel Pogrebnyak shared his thoughts on how the absence of goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev will impact CSKA in the 16th round match of the Mir RPL against Spartak. The game is scheduled for November 22 at the «Lukoil Arena» with the kickoff at 16:45 MSK.

“Not having Akinfeev is a significant loss for CSKA ahead of the derby against Spartak. The goalkeeper is half the team. It’s unfortunate that such a legend will miss the match. There have been instances where Torop conceded a goal from a corner against Lokomotiv. Akinfeev is a more reliable keeper, and his presence will be missed in the derby against Spartak,” said Pogrebnyak in an interview with Championship correspondent Nikolai Baranov.
