Pavel Durov Gains Freedom to Leave France After Legal Restrictions Lifted

The French publication AFP has reported that the founder of the messaging app Telegram, **Pavel Durov**, has had the restrictions on his movements lifted. According to the media, he is now free to leave France without any obstacles.

The billionaire adhered fully to the judicial oversight, participating in questioning three times and being required to regularly check in with the police in Nice. Previously, Durov achieved an initial relaxation of the judicial control, enabling him to travel to Dubai.

In August 2024, a French court officially charged Pavel Durov with allowing his platform to be used by criminals for illicit activities, ranging from drug trafficking to the distribution of child exploitation images. Reports indicated that the billionaire had been uncooperative with French authorities. He was detained but later released on a €5 million bail.
