Patch Update for Starfield: Graphics Settings Enhanced, But Still No New Content

It has been two months since the team behind  Starfield promised «lots of exciting updates for this year,» and finally, an update has arrived. However, there are some caveats. The new patch, currently in «beta» phase, introduces «very low» graphic settings, slightly enhances the Creation Kit, and fixes a long list of bugs. Unfortunately, there is no new content included.

For some players, the addition of the lowest graphic preset may come as a relief, as Starfield can be demanding on weaker machines. Yet, from a gameplay mechanics standpoint, everything remains stagnant.

This update is primarily technical and aimed at modders: it allows the upload of files up to 2 GB, the inclusion of custom icons, and the ability to bundle mods in the Creations Club. Unsurprisingly, such a minimal patch has met a new wave of disappointment on Reddit.

We can only hope that Bethesda is merely laying the groundwork for something truly significant. As a reminder, the title is available on PC (Steam) and Xbox Series. Unfortunately, the official Russian translation has yet to be released, but rumors about a PlayStation 5 version have surfaced.
