Overcoming Defeat: Anisimovas Journey Through Grand Slam Finals

The fourth-ranked tennis player in the world, American athlete Amanda Anisimova, shared her thoughts on how she mentally coped after suffering defeats in Grand Slam finals during the 2025 season.

«Of course, it was a challenge. I had to work hard on my mental game, reassess everything, and contemplate how I would recover and approach my upcoming tournaments, especially if I faced Iga Swiatek again.

However, I believe everything fell into place quite naturally. I didn’t overthink it—I simply treated each tournament as a new day and a new match. That’s how I kept moving forward,” Anisimova told The Guardian.

In the 2025 season, Anisimova reached the finals of Grand Slam tournaments twice. She lost to Poland’s Iga Swiatek with a score of 0-6, 0-6 at Wimbledon, and in the US Open final, she was defeated by the world number one, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (3-6, 6-7 (3-7)).
