Opera Unveils AI-Driven Browser Neon with Subscription Model

Opera has unveiled its new browser, Neon, which emphasizes artificial intelligence capabilities. This browser can function as an AI agent, handling tasks such as making purchases, filling out forms, and even programming on behalf of the user.

A waiting list has been established. Users will need to purchase a subscription to access Opera Neon after its official release, though the pricing details are yet to be disclosed.

On the browser’s sidebar, there are three buttons:

The AI processes that enable these features operate on a virtual machine in the cloud. This allows Neon to tackle tasks even when the user is offline or engaged in other activities.

In April 2023, Opera also launched the One browser, which includes AI functionalities.

It’s worth noting that in April 2025, OpenAI expressed an interest in acquiring Google Chrome.
