OnePlus Unveils Powerhouse Duo: Ace 5 Ultra and Racing Edition Launch with Cutting-Edge MediaTek Processors and Gaming Features

On Tuesday, the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra was officially introduced in China, equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset, alongside the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition, which utilizes a MediaTek Dimensity 9400e SoC. Both devices operate on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15 right out of the box. They share a «Glacier» cooling system designed for effective thermal management and include in-display optical fingerprint sensors for security. These new models add to the lineup of OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro which were released in China back in December 2024.

Pricing and Availability of OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra and OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition

The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra is priced at CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs. 29,700) for the 12GB+256GB version. Additionally, it will offer configurations of 16GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 16GB+512GB priced at CNY 2,799 (about Rs. 33,200), CNY 2,999 (around Rs. 35,600), and CNY 3,299 (nearly Rs. 39,200), respectively.

For those seeking higher specifications, a premium 16GB+1TB version of the OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra is available for CNY 3,799 (approximately Rs. 45,100). It comes in styles of Breeze Blue, Burning Titanium, and Phantom Black (translated from Chinese).

The OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition is offered at CNY 1,799 (around Rs. 21,400) for the 12GB+256GB variant. Other options are priced at CNY 2,099 (around Rs. 24,900), CNY 2,299 (approximately Rs. 27,300), and CNY 2,499 (roughly Rs. 29,700) for the 16GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 16GB+512GB configurations, respectively. The available colors include Chasing Waves White, Rock Black, and Wild Green (translated from Chinese).

The OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra features a 6.83-inch flat 1.5K (1,272×2,800 pixels) display that boasts a refresh rate of 144Hz, peak brightness reaching 1,400 nits, a PWM dimming frequency of 3,840Hz, and support for HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision. The device is also certified by TÜV Rheinland for Eye Protection 4.0.

Powered by a 3nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset, the phone is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and can include as much as 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. It runs on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15.

The camera setup includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 primary sensor (1/1.56-inch) with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS), along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, it has a 16-megapixel front camera with an f/2.4 aperture.

OnePlus indicates that the Ace 5 Ultra includes a specific «Fengchi» gaming chip, a «Lingxi» touch chip, and a G1 esports Wi-Fi chip, with the names having been translated from Chinese. The phone also incorporates a Glacier Cooling system featuring a 7,300 sq mm VC cooling unit along with a 4,000 sq mm cooling area on the back cover.

The Ultra variant boasts a 6,700mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging. Connectivity options include 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, NavIC, NFC, and USB Type-C. It also includes an in-display optical fingerprint sensor for user security.

The OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition offers a 6.77-inch 1.5K (1,080×2,392 pixels) AMOLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and peak brightness of up to 1,300 nits. Utilizing a 4nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9400e SoC, it comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, also shipping with ColorOS 15 based on Android 15.

The rear camera setup consists of a dual camera system, highlighted by a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS, along with a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. It shares the front camera sensor with the Ultra variant.

OnePlus confirms that the Ace 5 Racing Edition also features the dedicated «Fengchi» gaming chip as well as the Glacier cooling system. The device is equipped with a 7,100mAh battery that supports 80W wired fast charging and includes similar connectivity and security features as the Ultra model.
