OnePlus Acknowledges Meda In China Typo on Watch 3, Offering Fans a Limited Edition Keepsake or Refund

Last week, OnePlus unveiled its latest flagship smartwatch, the Watch 3. The device quickly garnered attention due to a typo on the back of the case, which read «Meda In China.» Some users on social media speculated that it was a deliberate marketing tactic, while others claimed it was a mistake by the quality control team. A few days later, OnePlus acknowledged the error, stating that it was unintentional, and offered users the option to return the watch or keep it as a limited edition.

«Oops, we made a mistake! A typo made it onto your brand-new OnePlus Watch 3. We assure you, it was unintentional. But if you already have the watch, you can keep it as a super-limited edition (after all, it’s one of a kind!) or return it without any hassle!» – the company’s post on X stated.

Due to the typo, OnePlus postponed the launch of the Watch 3 from February 25, 2025, to April 2025. Pre-orders are available with a $30 discount for early buyers, along with an additional $50 off for trading in their old watches.

The Watch 3 boasts a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 2200 nits, protected by sapphire glass. Its stainless steel case is complemented by a titanium bezel. The dimensions of the OnePlus Watch 3 are 46.6×47.6×11.75 mm, and it weighs 49.7 grams without the strap. It is offered in two color variants: Obsidian Titanium and Emerald Titanium.
