«This is the first tournament of the year, so it’s a bit easier to focus right now, as I haven’t played too many matches yet and haven’t experienced burnout. I’m pleased with how I’m playing. On the court, I fight for every point and aim to win each one, and so far, it’s working well. I just need to get through one more hurdle,» Medvedev said in a post-match interview on the court.

To clinch the tournament title, Medvedev will face another American, Brandon Nakashima, who is currently ranked 33rd.
