Noise ColorFit Pro 4: Budget-Friendly Smartwatch with Bluetooth Calling Takes the Spotlight

Over the last few years, the landscape of smartwatch preferences has changed significantly. Today, consumers look for features like heart rate monitoring, SpO2 tracking, vibrant color displays, and notification capabilities for various applications, even in budget-friendly models. One of the rising trends in smartwatches is the inclusion of Bluetooth calling functionality—this attractive feature, previously mostly found in high-end models, has caught the attention of potential buyers.

Noise has entered the Bluetooth calling arena with its latest product, the ColorFit Pro 4. With a price tag of Rs. 3,499, this smartwatch offers an impressive range of functions at a competitive cost, including making and receiving calls directly from your wrist, essential fitness tracking tools, and a battery life lasting up to seven days. Is this the top affordable smartwatch currently available? Read on to find out in this review.

Design and Specifications of Noise ColorFit Pro 4

The rectangular design popularized by the Apple Watch is mirrored in many budget smartwatches, including the Noise ColorFit Pro 4. It features a 1.72-inch TFT LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 356×400 pixels and a brightness of up to 500 nits. The display is quite crisp and clear, making it easy to read text and information.

The Noise ColorFit Pro 4 comes in six color variants, allowing you to choose a style that matches your personal taste. The review unit I tested featured a silver-grey casing paired with grey 22mm replaceable silicone straps, which I found visually appealing for the price. While there are somewhat pronounced borders surrounding the screen, selecting a watch face with a dark background minimizes their visibility during regular use.

On the right side of the Noise ColorFit Pro 4, there is a microphone, and on the left, a small speaker grille, both essential for Bluetooth calling. There is a single button on the right side that can be rotated for scrolling. The bottom of the smartwatch is equipped with optical sensors for heart rate and blood oxygen measurements, along with connection points for the magnetic charger. It boasts an IP68 rating, ensuring both dust and water resistance.

The sales package contains the charging cable for the Noise ColorFit Pro 4 as well as user manuals. Weighing just 24.1g, it utilizes Bluetooth 5.3 for connectivity. Additionally, an accelerometer enables the lift-to-wake feature to activate the display.

Software and App of Noise ColorFit Pro 4

This Bluetooth calling feature is registered as a secondary Bluetooth device on your smartphone. Once paired, the Noise ColorFit Pro 4 allows you to place and receive calls just like other Bluetooth audio devices. If you wish to discontinue its use, simply disconnect the Bluetooth device from your smartphone without affecting the connection for synchronization and notifications, which remains paired as a separate device in low-energy mode.

The Noise app enables synchronization of fitness data and customization of watch faces while managing the Bluetooth connection for notifications

An interesting feature of the Noise ColorFit Pro 4 is its interactive dynamic watch faces that allow you to access respective apps for more detailed statistics. While such features are usually reserved for high-end models, this affordable smartwatch includes them, adding a nice benefit. Unfortunately, it lacks an always-on display mode. To activate the screen, users must rely on the lift-to-wake gesture or press the button; tapping the screen will not activate it while in standby mode.

Depending on the selected watch face, you can typically view key functions on the Noise ColorFit Pro 4’s home screen. My preferred watch face displayed steps, heart rate, and battery level, with quick access buttons for workouts, activity, heart rate data, music control, and the phone dialer.

You can download additional watch faces via the smartphone app, but most of these are static and lack the features offered by the dynamic watch faces. The user interface on the Noise ColorFit Pro 4 is tidy, visually appealing on the clear screen, and typically enables easy access to all features with simple taps or swipes.

The app drawer on the device is opened by pressing the physical button once, revealing applications including Noise Health, Noise Buzz (the Bluetooth calling app), Clock (which features a stopwatch, timer, and alarms), weather updates, stocks, flashlight, and watch faces. It is not possible to install additional apps on the smartwatch, but you can transfer watch faces through the NoiseFit app on your smartphone.

The Noise ColorFit Pro 4 comes pre-loaded with apps to manage its core functionalities, including fitness tracking and Bluetooth calling

The NoiseFit app is compatible with both iOS and Android and serves as the connection controller between the Noise ColorFit Pro 4 and your smartphone. Once synchronized, fitness and health metrics can be reviewed in detail, device settings for alerts, auto heart rate monitoring, weather preferences, among other features, can be adjusted, and firmware can be updated.

You can also download and synchronize new watch faces or design custom ones via the app. The layout is user-friendly, maintaining a stable connection with the Noise ColorFit Pro 4, reliably pushing notifications and syncing data throughout my review of the smartwatch.

Performance and Battery Life of Noise ColorFit Pro 4

Similar to other budget smartwatches, the Noise ColorFit Pro 4 excels as a companion and notifier for your smartphone. You get a large, crisp display, the option to change watch faces based on your mood, and the convenience of receiving alerts from apps without needing to glance at your smartphone.

Additionally, the Bluetooth calling feature functioned adequately in some situations. However, the basic speaker and microphone may limit longer conversations since you’d have to hold the watch close to your face to ensure clarity for both parties. It works fine for brief exchanges, particularly when you’re on-the-go or in the middle of a workout when accessing your smartphone can be cumbersome.

Although the Noise ColorFit Pro 4 has heart rate and SpO2 tracking, their accuracy leaves something to be desired

When it comes to fitness and health tracking, the Noise ColorFit Pro 4’s performance was frequently off the mark. During a 1000-step test, for instance, it logged 1,075 steps, while my manual count was exactly 1,000. Over longer distances, the discrepancy increased to approximately 85 extra steps per 1,000 compared to the Apple Watch Series 5.

Distance measurements were somewhat consistent with the Apple Watch’s readings, but calorie counts varied significantly for the same workouts conducted with both devices simultaneously. The smartwatch supports various workout types, including some unique options like Kabaddi and Kite Flying, although I primarily tracked walking sessions using the Noise ColorFit Pro 4.

Heart rate and blood oxygen readings were consistent when stationary compared to a pulse oximeter, but they varied widely while in motion relative to the Apple Watch. Sleep tracking was suitably decent for fundamental metrics. Overall, I would not recommend the Noise ColorFit Pro 4 for effective fitness and health tracking.

In terms of battery performance, the Noise ColorFit Pro 4 performed reasonably well against other smartwatches in this category and price range. It managed to last around six days on a single charge with routine notifications from my smartphone throughout the day, occasional workout monitoring, and a few minutes of Bluetooth calling each day.

Conclusion

In the realm of budget smartwatches, the Noise ColorFit Pro 4 distinguishes itself for several reasons. Firstly, it provides a solid array of features, featuring a vibrant display, interactive watch faces, and Bluetooth calling capabilities. The second notable aspect is its significantly lower price compared to many similarly equipped competitors; at Rs. 3,499, you receive a capable smartwatch experience that rivals or even surpasses a lot of the competition in this price range.

If you’re operating on a budget and desire an aesthetically pleasing smartwatch with numerous features, the Noise ColorFit Pro 4 is definitely worth considering. Just remember that fitness tracking is not its strong suit; prioritize its screen, Bluetooth calling capabilities, and overall design.
